Mushrooms (2025)

This piece celebrates the intricate beauty and hidden labor of mushrooms. These remarkable organisms play a vital ecological role: breaking down dead plant and animal matter and recycling nutrients back into the soil. Many species also contribute to carbon sequestration, quietly helping to stabilize our climate. In depicting these forms, I honor both their visual complexity and their ecological importance—reminding us that some of nature’s most essential systems operate just beneath our feet.
